VCU Brandcenter

Financial Aid

Brandcenter students have access to a variety of financial aid, work-study and other funding programs. Most U.S. citizen students are eligible for $20,500 in federal loans each year. Supplemental assistance may be available through alternative loans and/or work study.

75% of our students are funding their education with federal financial aid and/or private loans.

All federal financial aid applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. This application can be completed electronically here. VCU's school code is 003735 and should be included on your FAFSA.

Applicants should also review information on
VCU's Financial Aid website to learn more about how aid programs are administered at VCU. Students at VCU are assigned to a financial aid counselor based on an alphabetical division by last name. Contact information for the counselors are listed on the financial aid site.

The Brandcenter offers several work-study opportunities including computer lab assistants, audio-visual assistants and a few office support personnel. These positions pay about $9.25 per hour and students can work 10-20 hours per week, depending on the amount of their award.

Only students who qualify for the Federal Work Study Program and are granted work study funds may apply. If you are interested in a Brandcenter work study position, make sure you request work study funds on the FAFSA.

If you are applying to the Brandcenter and have not yet submitted the FAFSA, please do so as soon as possible even if you are waiting to hear about your admission status. If you do not attend the Brandcenter, you can decline the funding. But, late submission of FAFSA may result in an out-of-pocket tuition payment. You will receive a reimbursement check when the financial aid process is complete but it's best to avoid this stressful situation at the beginning of the school year.
