Alumni win two Cannes Grand Prix for New York Times campaign

The New York Times’ “The Truth Is Worth It” campaign from Brandcenter alumni and their team at Droga5 won the Grand Prix in both the Film and Film Craft categories at the Cannes Fesitval of Creativity. This marks the first time a single campaign has won the top honor in both those categories in the history of the festival.

Brandcenter Alum Mira Kaddoura is one of AdAge's Women to Watch in 2019

Mira Kaddoura grew up in Beirut, speaking Arabic and French. She lived through multiple wars there and witnessed firsthand the suddenness and finality of death. Even after moving to Virginia to attend VCU Brandcenter, she worried about friends and family back in the Middle East. Those experiences colored her design philosophy, and after 10 years at Wieden & Kennedy Portland, she founded the agency Red & Co., which she says focuses on “nondisposable” work for brands.

Since joining Droga5 in 2013 and 2012 respectively, Casey Rand and Karen Land Short have helped lead the charge for some of the agency’s most defining work, including Under Armour’s ‘I Will What I Want' and the Clinton Foundation’s ‘Not There’, as well as multiple campaigns for Chase, Dixie, Prudential, Newcastle, YMCA, Covergirl and more.
