Brandcenter Boasts Record Number of Alumni Ads in Super Bowl 2020
The VCU Brandcenter saw a total of 26 alums contribute to 18 different Super Bowl spots this year — a record number for the program. Brands represented by alumni work include Planters, Olay, Doritos, Bud Light, Facebook and Porsche, to name a few.
“Our alumni are the creative minds behind some of the biggest brands in the world,” said Vann Graves, executive director of Brandcenter. “We’re proud to see such a huge number of Brandcenter alums behind the scenes of the biggest media event of the year.”
During the watch party, current students chatted and worked on projects while the game aired, then the room fell silent during each commercial set. Brief commentary was exchanged at the end of each spot, and a loud roar of cheers erupted each time a Brandcenter spot played.
