BRANDCENTER STANDS WITH BLACK LIVES MATTER

Time and time again, our BrandFam uses their talents to help make the world a better place. We're proud of rising second years Nana Dadzie (ST, 2021) and Monica Roebuck (CW, 2021) for the work they created in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Nana produced the video "Silence is," and Monica designed the above graphic, which is now available for purchase. All proceeds will be donated to organizations supporting BLM.

INTRODUCING: THE CARRIAGE HOUSE

With internships and job opportunities limited this summer, a team of Brandcenter students shifted gears and started The Carriage House, the Brandcenter's first student-run creative co-op. The group hit the ground running on June 1, providing pro bono services for 11 clients in the form of creative strategy, website design, brand positioning and strategy, social media, and more. Within a few days of opening, they were completely booked for the summer.

BRANDCENTER CLASS OF 2020

The Brandcenter Class of 2020 graduated on Saturday, May 9, though we were unable to host our traditional commencement ceremony due to COVID-19. To give this cohort the celebration they deserve, we plan to hold the Class of 2020 graduation ceremony on May 15, 2021. The Class of 2020 will be honored in the morning, and the Class of 2021 will be honored at the usual time in the afternoon.

Despite not being able to gather in person, our 2020 commencement speaker Philippe Krakowsky (Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, IPG) shared his words of wisdom with graduates via email. An edited version of his speech was published in Campaign.

BAKING BREAD WITH TROJAN

When the world went into quarantine this spring, it seemed everyone was hoarding toilet paper, disinfectant... and baker's yeast.

Emily Hovis (CW, 2016), Anne Marie Wonder (AD, 2016), Nick Kaplan (CW, 2008) and their team at 72andSunny in NYC jumped on the trend, creating "Rising Time," a free downloadable cookbook, on behalf of client Trojan.

LUCKY BRAND #WINFROMHOME

In May, Lucky Brand made stay at home orders fun with the #WinFromHome Instagram game. Each day, a new challenge was posted for audiences to try (and share on Instagram). Prompts included, "Use the toilet backwards," "Master blanket fort architecture," and "Become a plant daddy." Instagram happily obliged.

Congrats to Kelly Cabaniss (CW, 2017), John Gaglio (CBM, 2015), and their entire team at PREACHER in Austin.
