Topic: Happiness and Creativity – Why can’t they get along? And how Purpose will save us all.

After a 23 year career at some of the best ad agencies in the world, Mike emerges with stories, and questions. In this talk he'll share insights into the mental health side of pursuing of great work.

Bio:

Luke Sullivan, Alex Bogusky and Mike Hughes have all hired Mike Lear.
 
His career spans over 20 years. He's produced campaigns in all media for MINI, Truth, IKEA, Virgin-Atlantic, Google, Molson, Bell, Shimano, GEICO, UPS, UPS Nascar, The UPS Store, Discover Card, American Cancer Society, Mentos, SiriusXM, Midas, The Smithsonian, The Onion, Microsoft, Walmart and Denny’s.
 
Mike now serves as Executive Creative Director, the Americas, at BrightHouse, a global creative consultancy and an independent division of The Boston Consulting Group, helping brands define and activate their purpose throughout the world.
 
Mike enjoys moonlighting as a teacher - three years at the Creative Circus, and over ten years off and on at VCU's Brandcenter. He also frequently lectures at other schools and ad clubs events.
 
Mike's work has been awarded in all major award shows, but he is most proud of winning one of the first One Show Pencils ever given for digital work, for the MINI Cooper Robot Campaign.
 
In 2019 he was honored to judge The Austin Addy’s, The Webby’s and Cannes Young Lions. We’ll see what happens in 2020.
