About Coltrane Curtis:

Coltrane Curtis is the Founder and Managing Partner of Team Epiphany, an award-winning, full-service consumer marketing agency specializing in brand strategy, social media amplification and public relations. Coltrane’s unique talent for brand-building, celebrity alliances and strategic program execution has been utilized by a host of industry leading clients including Nike, Google, HBO, Glenfiddich, Cadillac, Heineken, Original Penguin, Fresh Direct and many more.

Prior to founding Team Epiphany, the New York native served as Vice President of Marketing for Marc Ecko Enterprises for eight years. During his tenure at Ecko, he also served as Editor-at-Large at Complex Magazine. He also worked on marketing campaigns with celebrities like 50 Cent, Eminem, Michael Rapaport, Mos Def and Timbaland for brands including G-Unit Apparel, Marc Ecko Collection and Zoo York.

Coltrane parted ways with Marc Ecko in 2004 to pursue a position at MTV as their first “Style VJ.” The role included interviewing musicians and actors for MTV awards ceremonies and television specials. Although he enjoyed the VJ position, Coltrane began to feel that his relationships and personality were best suited behind the camera – organically merging brands with celebrity talent.

Since founding Team Epiphany in 2004, the agency has grown from a one-man-shop to a 50+ person agency with offices in New York City and Portland – garnering acclaim on Inc. Magazine’s elite list of “Fastest–Growing Private Companies” annually since 2009. Read more about Team Epiphany here.

Coltrane has been featured in media outlets including Forbes, Inc., FOX Business, Advertising Age, Entrepreneur, Adweek, Bloomberg, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and many more. The 41-year-old is a Forbes Agency Council member, an American Black Film Festival (ABFF) board member, a 2015 BizBash “Event Innovator,” a member of Direct Marketing News’ 2015 “40 Under 40,” a 2010 AdColor Innovator, and was a participant, alongside Mayor Michael Bloomberg, in the 2010 NYC & Co. “Just Ask the Local” campaign.
