Summer 2026:

Creativity in the Age of AI (virtual)

  • Instructor: Micah Berry
  • Virtual
  • May 26-July 2, 2026
  • Tuesdays/Thursdays 6:30-8:30 pm EST
  • Program cost: $995
  • Registration will open soon

Offered in collaboration with the VCU Da Vinci Center, this class is a 6-week crash course in the tools, mindsets, and workflows shaping the future of our industry, taught by Brandcenter Associate Director of Technical Training, Micah Berry.

Students will explore how artificial intelligence, automation, design thinking, and emerging media are transforming the creative process — from ideation to production. Using Google’s AI suite (Veo, ImageFX, Gemini, and NotebookLM) as our primary toolkit, we’ll learn how to generate, iterate, and refine ideas across text, image, video, and motion. Alongside Google tools, we’ll experiment with industry-relevant platforms like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and others to compare workflows and creative outcomes.

Through a mix of demos, short assignments, and open-ended experiments, students will develop a critical understanding of when — and why — to use these technologies in strategic and creative contexts. By the end, each participant will produce a small body of work that demonstrates fluency in AI-driven prototyping and an informed perspective on the evolving role of creativity in a machine-augmented world.
